That mix shaped a&nbsp;sound rooted in country storytelling but unafraid to reach beyond its borders. A thoughtful&nbsp;songwriter with a knack for sharp one-liners, sturdy hooks, and a powerhouse voice that&nbsp;cuts straight to the truth, Fleet was working blue-collar jobs long before ever landing a&nbsp;record deal. A devout family man and respected songwriter (including co-writing “Man Made A Bar,”&nbsp;recorded by Morgan Wallen featuring Eric Church), Fleet has built an impressive catalog:&nbsp;2019’s aptly titled Workin’ Hard, 2021’s Stack of Records—a nod to the music that raised&nbsp;him—2023’s Earned It with the standout “Things I Take for Granted,” and now 2025’s&nbsp;independently released Hard Work &amp; Holy Water.&nbsp;Fleet is doing things his own way—touring globally, connecting with fans, and staying true to&nbsp;where he’s from while taking country music somewhere new.

Jefferson Starship is one of the most successful arena rock bands of the ’70s and ’80s, earning 3 platinum and 8 gold records, as well as numerous Top 40 Billboard singles. Having surpassed a 50-year legacy, the band stands among a rare group whose impact continues to endure.
Founded by Paul Kantner in the ’70s, Jefferson Starship was conceived as a collective of musical adventurers contributing to his epic concept albums and eventual catalog of rock classics. When the current lineup came together in 2012, with many members having joined years earlier, Kantner couldn’t have predicted the band would become the road-conquering force they are today.
The five members of Jefferson Starship often describe themselves as both a “family” and a”gang,” and this sense of camaraderie shines through in their performances. Over the years, they’ve played in all 50 U.S. states, five continents, and countless countries. A recent tourofNew Zealand was noted as one of the band’s favorites, and their live shows continue to offer a non-stop mix of rock hits.
The band’s current lineup includes founding member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin (who first joined in 1982), keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998), guitarist Jude Gold(who joined in 2012), and singer/guitarist Cathy Richardson (who joined in 2008 after Kantnersaw her perform with Big Brother and the Holding Company).
As Jefferson Starshipforges aheadinto thefuture,the band reflects on the legacy of Paul Kantner, who passed away in 2016. The spirit of exploration and adventure he instilled in the band lives on in their music and performances. As Gold puts it, “Tome, that ‘Paul Kantner thing’—getting on a rocket ship and blasting off into the unknown—is the very essence of Jefferson Starship. And that spirit is very much alive in the band today.”

Over nearly three decades, the multi platinum record-breaking New Orleans icon served up a string of classic albums, influenced two generations of stars, and pioneered a sound rooted in Louisiana bounce, yet carried by worldwide rap appeal and ambition. Like all timeless stories though, his stretches back to humble beginnings in the neighborhood his music put on the map: the Magnolia Projects. As if predisposed by destiny to pick up a microphone, he heard Melle Mel’s verse on “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash &amp; The Furious Five, commenced spitting, and never stopped since…
“That’s really when it all started,” he recalls. “I heard Melle Mel saying, ‘Don’t push me, ‘cuz I’m close to the edge’, and that was it. I was only seven-years-old, but I knew I had to rap.”
After his Cash Money Records debut Solja Rags, he crafted an era-defining opus in the form of 400 Degreez. Not only did it go quadruple-platinum, but it also became “the best-selling album in Cash Money Records History.” It produced staples such as the title track, “Ha” (which JAY-Z notably remixed), and “Back That Azz Up.” The latter would be sampled by everyone from Drake to City Girls. The Ringer lauded 400 Degreez among the “20 Best Southern Rap Albums Ever” behind only UGK’s Ridin’ Dirty and OutKast’s Aquemini. Pitchfork bestowed a rare 9.4-out-of-10 rating upon the record, and Kendrick Lamar cited it as one of his “Favorite Albums” in Complex and went so far as to claim, “They had the West Coast on smash. We definitely tried to be like them.” The heat spread far and wide across the United States.
Around the same time, Juvenile comprised The Hot Boys alongside Lil Wayne, B.G., and Turk. Together, they smashed charts with the Get It How U Live! [1997] and the platinum Guerilla Warfare [1999]. His next solo offering, Tha G-Code, went double-platinum followed by the platinum Project English. Meanwhile, 2003’s Juve The Great emerged as another unsung platinum classic as “Slow&nbsp;Motion” [feat. Soulja Slim] topped the Billboard Hot 100 at #1 for two weeks. He maintained a prolific pace in the ensuing years and collaborated with everyone from Future to Yo Gotti before reuniting with Cash Money Records. The chemistry thrives on their 2019 first full-length collaborative album, J.A.G.It boldly extended Juvenile’s own legacy with unanimous praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Billboard as the singles “Just Another Gangsta” and “Dreams” [feat. NLE Choppa] tallied over 20 million total streams and views. Moreover, it preceded the stage for another collaborative effort and an O.G. Cash Money Records reunion on “Ride Dat” [feat. Lil Wayne].

17 years ago ICT Roller Girls was formed. It was 2006 and roller derby was making its comeback across the US. Merely two years after the league was founded ICT had more than forty skaters. Thus sprouting the A team (the All Stars) and the B team (Havoc). ICT Roller Girls had played both locally and throughout the US, even hosting the WFTDA Division 2 playoffs in 2016. After a simple, but necessary, rebranding in 2017 ICT Roller Girls officially changed to ICT Roller Derby to be more inclusive.&nbsp;
Throughout the years, the league has seen its share of high numbers of league members as well as low. However, once COVID hit, the entire sport (like the rest of the world) had been put on hold. Changing the whole dynamic of the league, ICT had to rebuild from the ground up. After only 3 original members from ICT remained, it was time to take a long look at what keeping the league alive and thriving meant.We felt it was time for another rebranding because we are a (mostly) totally new team. We are formed from fresh faces with opportunities to grow. We are an all genders, all ages, all experience levels team. The Wallflowers Announce 30th Anniversary Tour for Bringing Down the Horse
The Wallflowers will mark the 30th anniversary of their landmark album Bringing Down the Horse with a nationwide U.S. tour kicking off April 17, 2026. The band&nbsp;will perform their classic album in its entirety, in sequence. The tour will also&nbsp;include a performance at Stagecoach, the world’s largest country music festival.
Originally released on May 21, 1996, Bringing Down the Horse was a critical and&nbsp;commercial triumph. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and&nbsp;was certified quadruple platinum, cementing the band’s place in ‘90s rock history.
The LP yielded four hit singles:
• “6th Avenue Heartache” – Two Grammy nominations (1997)
• “One Headlight” – Reached #1 on the Billboard singles chart, winning two
Grammy Awards (1998). The songranked #58 on Rolling Stone’s “100&nbsp;Greatest Pop Songs”
• “The Difference” – Grammy nomination (1998)
• “Three Marlenas” – Released as the album’s final single in October 1997&nbsp;Influenced by a slew of first-generation American songwriters including The Band&nbsp;and Tom Petty &amp; the Heartbreakers, The Wallflowers will also pay tribute on the&nbsp;upcoming tour to the 50th anniversary of Tom Petty &amp; the Heartbreakers’ by playing&nbsp;Petty’s 1982 album Long After Dark in its entirety and in sequence as well.
Jakob Dylan, the band’s chief songwriter, remains a vital performer in American&nbsp;rock music. As part of three decades of work, in 2002, he inducted Tom Petty into&nbsp;the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. In 2018, he performed in the critically acclaimed&nbsp;documentary Echo in the Canyon, collaborating with artists ranging from Neil&nbsp;Young and Eric Clapton to Beck, Cat Power, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor.
Dylan also contributed songs to several soundtracks, including The Wallflowers’ cover of “Heroes” for the 1998 Godzilla film soundtrack and “Arms of a Ghost” to television series, NCIS Los Angeles and “Nothing But the Whole Wide World” to&nbsp;Friday Night Lights. In 2025 The Wallflowers supported Eric Clapton on his US&nbsp;tour as they have done in the past for him as well as the supporting performances for&nbsp;the Who and The Rolling Stones.
