The City of Wichita invites residents to an open house from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 20 at the Evergreen Recreation Center, 2700 N. Woodland, to provide feedback for proposed public art projects for the new community center. The community center is under construction at the Evergreen Branch Library space at 2601 N. Arkansas.

Artists Armando Minjárez, Heather Byers and Carlos Palomino will attend to answer questions from the community.

Another opportunity to provide feedback on the art projects will be at an upcoming District VI Advisory Board meeting. The projects will go before the Design Council for final approval.

District VI City Council Member Cindy Claycomb leads the community center project. It will combine the Evergreen Library, Neighborhood Resource Center, Empower and several other community agencies into a central location residents can access. It will be a "one stop shop" to fulfill community services.

La ciudad de Wichita invita a los residentes a una jornada de puertas abiertas de 5:30 a 7 p.m. el Miércoles 20 de octubre en el Evergreen Recreation Center, 2700 N. Woodland, para brindar comentarios sobre los proyectos de arte público para el nuevo centro comunitario. El centro comunitario está en construcción en el espacio de la biblioteca Evergreen Branch en el 2601 N. Arkansas.
