City of Wichita Named Scott Wadle As New Planning Director
Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita today announced Scott Wadle as the new Wichita-Sedgwick County MAPD Director.

Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita today announced Scott Wadle as the new Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Department (MAPD) Director. Wadle has been the Interim Planning Director since March 2020.

The Director of Planning oversees a vital piece of City and County metropolitan planning which includes innovative projects to make Wichita and Sedgwick County a more vibrant community.
MAPD provides professional planning services to the Wichita City Council and Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners and is a consolidated City-County department of 17 staff members comprised of planners, inspectors and support staff.

“Our community will benefit from Scott’s experience, education and enthusiasm,” said County Manager Tom Stolz. “Our planning department touches all community development, and Scott’s leadership will help drive us toward future success.”
“The planning department is vitally important to our growth,” said City Manager Robert Layton. “Scott’s extensive experience, not only in planning but in transit and civic engagement will help guide the progress of our community in a strategic manner.”
Wadle holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor’s from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. He also holds a Mini Masters in Public Administration from WSU.
