Board of County Commissioners

  • The County Treasurer’s office presented a donation to the Fire District’s Clowns on behalf of the Treasurer’s Jean Charity.
  • The Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) approved meeting minutes for Aug. 18, 20 and 25.
  • A proclamation was adopted declaring Sept. 17-23, 2021 as Constitution Vicki Timmons, Chair accepted the proclamation on behalf of the Mary Draper Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
  • Commissioners approved a request by Jim Weber, Director of Public Works, to submit of a Letter of Intent for a grant to fund construction two dry detention ponds in the county that will reduce flooding along the Calfskin Creek in Wichita.
  • Deputy County Manager Tim Kaufman gave a COVID-19 update. He shared a current status of COVID-19 in the county, concerns and future outlook. Currently, 50.2% of the eligible population (ages 12 and over) are fully vaccinated. There has been a 600% increase in sampling at the SCHD testing center since the week of June 28, 2021.

  • Sedgwick County residents can request a bulky waste coupon that allows them to dispose of up to 1,000 pounds of bulky waste at no cost. This coupon is good starting today, Sept. 15 through Nov. 24. To get your coupon, visit org/environment.
