On July 13, 2021, at 2:08 P.M., deputies were dispatched to a vehicle injury accident involving a truck and motorcycle at the intersection of 119th Street West and 31st Street South. During the collision investigation deputies learned a southbound Honda motorcycle operated by a 34 year old male struck a southbound Ford F-150 driven by a 74 year old male. The operator of the motorcycle was attempting to pass the truck as driver of the truck was making a left turn (east) onto 31st Street South.
The operator of the motorcycle, Evan Williams of Wichita, died at the scene.
