The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office recently assisted the United States Marshals Service with Operation Patriot. Operation Patriot is a multi-agency sex offender compliance operation that conducts sex offender compliance and address verification checks throughout Sedgwick County.

On July 14, 2021, several teams comprised of deputies, officers and agents of the United States Marshals Service, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Kansas Bureau of Investigations, Wichita Police Department and Kansas Department of Corrections, conducted 283 compliance checks on registered sex offenders in Sedgwick County. Five offenders were found to be non-compliant, five were found to be incarcerated, and six were arrested on offenses unrelated to the offender registration act.
