The Sheriff’s Office has been notified of a scam involving individuals identifying themselves as employees of the Sheriff’s Office. The suspects representing themselves as employees of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office are falsely informing victims they have a warrant for their arrest for failing to appear in court as a witness. The suspects then inform the victim they can place a hold on the warrant if they pay a fine.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and their employees do not solicit payment for any fines over the phone or in person.
