Peace Love & Pie

Among the winter pie options at Peace, Love & Pie is the double chocolate pecan pie, with a deep, dark, rich chocolate flavor and a smooth and creamy finish that the piemakers promise will deliver peace, love and joy in each bite. Another chocolatey option is the fleur de sel caramel brownie pie, which is a decadent brownie filling topped with a caramel cream topping drizzled with caramel and a dusting of fleur de sel. Have either as a slice, order a whole pie or have them make it into a shake. They also have crookies featuring their chocolate pie crust made into a cookie. The menu changes with the seasons, so keep an eye on the next chocolate creation at Wichita’s premium pie and dessert shop.

Old Mill Tasty Shop

A chocolate malt, a hot fudge sundae, a chocolate Coke – you’ll find all the classic ice cream and soda fountain treats at Old Mill Tasty Shop, home of one of the oldest functioning soda fountains in the state. Sit at the marble counter for the full experience.

Monica’s Bundt Cake

The locally owned bakery inside a shipping container at Revolutsia is named Monica’s Bundt Cake, but they offer a wide variety of treats. Among their chocolate best-sellers are double fudge brownies and, of course, chocolate Bundt cake in sizes from individual to shareable. Beyond baked goods, they also offer handmade hot cocoa bombs and chocolate covered strawberries. A specialty available year-round is their chocolate covered strawberry bouquets with options ranging from toppings to the addition of roses.

The Popcorner

The best-selling popcorn flavor at The Popcorner (east and west locations) is the tuxedo gourmet. It starts with their old time caramel popcorn as a base then gets drizzled with three pounds of white chocolate and milk chocolate all over it. Looking for another chocolate option? Try the housemade fudge, dipped pretzels or seasonal gourmet treats. There’s a chocolate lovers box if you want to sample it all!

Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates

With locations across town (Bradley Fair, New Market Square and Old Town), you’re never far from a Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates location. Each has a Sweet Lounge to enjoy an array of indulgences, including all things chocolate. Chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, macaron with chocolate ganache, brownies, cookies, chocolate lava cake and individual cheesecakes starring chocolate. Then there are gelato flavors with chocolate ingredients, and don’t forget the beverages: hot chocolate, iced chocolate, drinking chocolate, chocolate-based martinis. Visit the Old Town location between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays for a good chance to see the Cocoa Dolce production kitchen in action.

Nifty Nut House

In downtown Wichita, Nifty Nut House offers nuts covered in chocolate, house-made fudge and seemingly endless bins of scoopable chocolate treats – triple dipped malt balls!– stocked from candy makers. The uniqueness of an experience at Nifty is that the staff wait on you, offering up samples of anything in the bins and then measuring your order and packaging it.

Churn & Burn

You’ll find a menu full of ice cream and coffee options here, but for an original experience try a namesake Churn & Burn (central and east locations) that mixes ice cream (churn) and coffee (burn). There are plenty of chocolate options, too, from the C&B tiramisu featuring vanilla ice cream with espresso Kahlua syrup, amaretto syrup, swiss chocolate syrup and cocoa to the swiss cafe mocha C&B of chocolate ice cream with espresso and chocolate chips. Part of the one-of-a-kind experience here is that Churn & Burn uses liquid nitrogen to freeze its ice cream when you order, creating a fresh, smooth and velvety product.

Kernel’s Popcorn Express

Some of the chocolate options at Kernel’s Popcorn Express are obvious – chocolate caramel peanut, chocolate cherry, chocolate toffee and chocolate mint (a cross between thin mint cookies and Andes mints) – while others have white chocolate that you’ll recognize as soon as you pop a kernel in your mouth, including the birthday cake and apple pie gourmet popcorn flavors.

Bagatelle Bakery

Good luck choosing from the amazing and affordable chocolate creations in the cases at Bagatelle Bakery. The chocolate croissants are baked daily with two chocolate sticks and topped with housemade chocolate sauce. There’s also a chocolate almond croissant. The chocolate hazelnut log is almost too pretty to eat: chocolate cake rolled with a hazelnut filling, encased in a hard chocolate and topped with a cute chocolate ganache dot. Order a slice or a whole chocolate mousse cake or chocolate flourless cake, or try the strawberry cheesecake with an Oreo crust and topped with chocolate dipped whole strawberries.

The Farris Wheel

On the east side of Wichita, stop in at The Farris Wheel to find more than 300 individual varieties of chocolates – from chocolate haystacks to a dark chocolate energy boost trail mix to chocolate covered sunflower seeds.

Mort’s

When open during regular operations, Mort’s Martini & Cigar Bar offers more than 160 different martinis. There’s still an impressive list available during their to-go only operations, including The Sure Thing: Godiva white chocolate liqueur, dark Creme de Cacao and 360 Double Chocolate vodka.

Prost

Head to Prost, an urban bier garten serving authentic German flavor, for a slice of black forest cake. This traditional German dessert is made with chocolate sponge cake layers filled with whipped cream and cherries.

YaYa’s Eurobistro

The preparation takes 20 minutes for the melted chocolate center to reach the perfect level of gooey, which only adds to the specialness of ordering the chocolate soufflé at YaYa’s. Order it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Wine Dive

Fire up the (table top) grill and make s’mores for your group using the chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers delivered by the staff at Wine Dive.

Coffee Roasters and Coffee Houses

Sip your way across our list of Wichita’s coffee shops and roasters and discover how they infuse chocolate into their menus, from the signature Aztec Mocha latte at Fairmount Coffee Co. to decadent and inventive hot chocolate options. Learn more about what's brewing at Wichita coffee shops and suggested drinks to try.

Local Breweries

Wichita has a collection of award-winning craft breweries, many of which offer exclusive flavors featuring chocolate in one form or another and rotating along with the seasons. Expect to find the unexpected, from Don’t Poke the Bear at Nortons Brewing Company, a milk stout brewed with homemade Dutch cocoa syrup, cocoa nibs, Tahitian vanilla beans and Kenyan AA cold brewed coffee to Wichita Brewing Co. & Pizzeria’s Catherine III, a Russian Imperial Stout brewed with generous amounts of smoked and chocolate malts.
