The City of Wichita is hiring. Community members are invited to attend a special hiring event and equipment rodeo happening this weekend.

Join Public Works & Utilities staff from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Westside Athletic Fields, 571 N. McLean Blvd., for the opportunity to join the City of Wichita Public Works & Utilities team.

Interested candidates can apply onsite for a variety of Public Works & Utilities positions and interview on the spot, eliminating the need to complete an online application. There is no experience required for entry-level positions; however, individuals who possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are highly encouraged to attend.

The event will also feature:

  • An equipment rodeo allowing candidates to check out the equipment they could be operating in their new role
  • Human Resources staff onsite to answer questions regarding the City benefits package and total compensation
  • Public Works & Utilities employees available to answer questions and give candidates an inside look of what it's like to work for the City.
