"It's been an honor to serve this community. I'm very proud to have been among the eight new council members that came aboard three years ago, which gave our Metro Council a fresh new look and perspective. But I feel it's now time for me to continue my service elsewhere,” said Councilman Triplett.
Triplett, a native of Louisville, was elected in November 2018 and took office in January 2019. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Community Affairs, Health & Education Committee. He is also a member of the Planning and Zoning, Parks and Sustainability, and Appropriations Committees.
"When I decided to run for this office, I never expected to stay here too long. I am satisfied with my first three years – working with my colleagues to guide our community through a very turbulent period. Together, I am proud to have been a part of our efforts to initiate police reform, address the critical housing shortage, the need for more affordable housing, responsible zoning & development, maintaining city services, addressing traffic safety issues, and seeing several improvements to our parks.
"Although there is still much to be done – such as the renaissance of the old Iroquois Homes Housing Development, additional parks improvements, implementing public safety and crime prevention measures, and possibly a new partnership with UofL Hospital – am satisfied with my term in office, what we've accomplished, and what lies ahead next year for this district.
"I look forward to spending more time with my family and will try my hand at retirement. I cannot thank my colleagues enough for their service, their help, their guidance, and their valued friendship,” said Councilman Triplett.
