On August 20, 2021, Mayor Greg Fischer and Ryan Nichols, President of the River City Fraternal Order of Police(FOP), jointly announced that tentative agreements had been reached concerning new FOP contracts. As was stated then, the parties to the negotiations had agreed that they would not release the tentative contracts to the public until they had been delivered to members, in deference to the members’ rights to collective bargaining.

As of Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 10 p.m., the FOP advised Metro Government that it had completed its last information session with its members. Upon that advisement, and as promised on August 20, 2021, attached please find a synopsis of the modified contract, together with a redlined version in full.
Please note that this process is not complete. These are tentative agreements, and members of the union are entitled to vote on this agreement as part of the process of collective bargaining. If the tentative agreements are approved by the members, they will be delivered to Metro Council for review and for public comment as the next steps in the process.
