Community Asked To Support Fallen Firefighter From Louisville

Firefighter Lesley Prather, her daughter and two others were killed in a tragic accident in Missouri on Friday morning.

President David James (D-6) has issued a statement on the tragic accident Friday that resulted in the death of Louisville Firefighter Lesley Prather and three others:

“All of Louisville Metro is in mourning after learning of the loss of Lesley Prather, her daughter and two others in a tragic accident in Missouri on Friday morning. Lesley was a dedicated firefighter with Engine Company 22 in Louisville's West End. She was also an accomplished volleyball player with the University of Louisville. She touched many lives in her time with us, first as a player, then coach and finally firefighter. She was dedicated to her family and worked with others as a team in all areas she participated in. She will be missed. On behalf of the Metro Council, I would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to her family and the family of Carrie McCaw. Also, to the dedicated men and women of Louisville Fire and the University of Louisville. May we all seek comfort in knowing Lesley was a special person and be grateful she was a part of so many lives and service to our community.”
