“I am so thankful for the work of community members like Fonz Brown, who are working to make sure the westend thrives. During this season of gratitude, it means so much that community groups and residents will spend their time on Saturday to make sure that West Louisville sparkles. Thank you to everyone for their support, and commitment in working to ensure that West Louisville is a wonderful and beautiful place for all of us to live, work and play,” said Councilwoman Green.
For many years, Fonz Brown and the members of the Mopar Muscle Car Club have teamed up with other groups to help children and the elderly with holiday cheer for the season. This year the club decided to take on the ambitious goal of Greatest Cleanup in West End History. Groups like iCAN are also coordinating the cleanup.
“I am happy to see so many people working together and participating in this west cleanup,” says President James. “This is a great way to show your pride in our city.”
Volunteers and other groups will meet on Saturday, November 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Citi Trends 2809 West Broadway. The groups will be given masks, trash bags and rakes and the cleanup will get underway at 12:00 p.m.
The Metro Council members have coordinated with Solid Waste Management Service to pick up all trash bags as a result of the effort.
