Today, I issued an Executive Order rescinding the State of Emergency enacted late last month in advance of Attorney Daniel Cameron’s announcement in the Breonna Taylor case.
The goal of that order, as well as related traffic restrictions and road closings, was to ensure space and opportunity for potential protesters to gather and express their First Amendment rights after the announcement, while also preparing for any eventuality to keep everyone safe.

Some of those restrictions were eased last week. With this new order, remaining barricades on Fifth, Sixth, Jefferson and Liberty streets will be removed at/after midnight, and parking restrictions will be lifted.
