Mayor George Bray said, “Encouraging the growth of Downtown Paducah is a priority for the Paducah City Commission. Earlier this year, the Board committed to a concentrated effort to support, enhance, celebrate, and improve our thriving downtown community. Downtown reflects Paducah’s spirit and unique personality and is the fabric of our entire community. It’s a draw for our local citizens as well as visitors from across the region. When our Downtown is successful, the excitement is obvious to all and spreads across the entire community.”

Paducah Main Street Director Katie Axt said, “Downtown Paducah continues to grow as a bustling district of creatives, residents, and local businesses with more than 65 stores and restaurants to explore. This year 13 new businesses opened, and four expanded their operations. We encourage everyone to shop local and see what’s new Downtown.”

With Small Business Saturday coming up on November 27, Axt added, “The holiday season is the most important time of year for our small businesses. By visiting our local stores, restaurants, and cultural attractions, you give back to our community by keeping dollars local and supporting local jobs. This year, Paducah Main Street is thrilled to partner with our merchants and the Parks and Recreation Department to bring a full season of holiday events and promotions.”

On November 27, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Downtown Paducah will be bustling with shoppers for the No Place Like Local Holidays Small Business Saturday event. Enjoy live music, strolling carolers, the Jolly Trolley providing transportation throughout downtown, free carriage rides, s’mores at Yeiser Art Center, photos with Santa and his sleigh, costumed characters at the Dickens Carriage Corner, and so much more. River Discovery Center also is providing a day camp for ages 5 and up from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Parents can shop stress free while kids enjoy holiday crafts, games, and pizza.
