Aaron Harp is an Elementary Education major whose love of music and magic––and big heart––will make his classroom a special place for his students.

The husband and father of three loves music and serves as a drummer at his church. He is also a professional magician who has performed throughout the U.S. and earned multiple awards. He has appeared on the TV show “Let’s Make a Deal” and even uses his talents to help others, including Ronald McDonald Charities.
“Our daughter Ally had open heart surgery when she was 5 years old,” said Harp. He and his family understand the vital support this charity provides.

As a way to give back, he has two scheduled performances at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown this month. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana.
Harp wants to use his role as a teacher to make a positive impact on students. He said he chose WKU because of the School of Teacher Education’s outstanding reputation.
“My plan for the future is to be able to provide a wonderful education for my students and just be a positive role model for children,” said Harp. “I know how important it is to have a male role model in your life."
