EBR School System to host multiple hiring events (louisianafirstnews.com) — East Baton Rouge Parish Schools are hosting a series of hiring and career-awareness events at Baton Rouge libraries, starting today at Goodwood and continuing through December at Scotlandville, Bluebonnet, and Fairwood branches. Job seekers can get application help, interview tips, and learn about pathways like Teach EBR, while current employees and residents can explore routes into teaching and support roles.

2. Police Chase Ends in Baton Rouge Near Ardenwood and Renoir (news-usa.today) — A police chase ended Wednesday evening at North Ardenwood Drive and Renoir Avenue in Baton Rouge, briefly shutting down traffic as officers secured and investigated the scene. Authorities have not yet released details on injuries, damage, or charges, but residents and businesses along the busy corridor experienced delays while police collected evidence and worked to reconstruct what led to the pursuit.

3. LSU and SPARK collaborate to share autism research and resources (lsureveille.com) — A Baton Rouge nonprofit, the Magnolia Rose Foundation for Autism Acceptance, is working with LSU-linked efforts to create welcoming play and learning spaces for neurodivergent kids and their families. Local parents describe how research, inclusive outings, and judgment‑free events help children build social and motor skills while giving caregivers a stronger sense of community and support.

4. Rising diesel prices hit area businesses (wafb.com) — Rising diesel prices are squeezing a Baton Rouge trucking company, forcing steep fuel surcharges and raising the possibility of service cuts that could ripple through local construction and supply chains. A regional economic analyst links the spike to international conflicts, noting some energy-related industries may benefit even as everyday consumers here face higher costs for goods.

5. Shaping Futures: Mental Health Leaders of Tomorrow (lsu.edu) — Rising juniors and seniors in the Baton Rouge area can apply now for Shaping Futures, a free LSU program that explores mental and behavioral health careers and includes a five‑day on‑campus experience in 2027.
