Grant to support Shreveport families building savings (ktalnews.com) — Bossier City families using housing choice vouchers can benefit from a new $182,000 federal grant that extends the Housing Authority's family self-sufficiency program through year's end. Participants build savings in escrow as their income rises, then can use the money for goals like homeownership, debt reduction, or education, with coordinators offering case management and financial-literacy support.
3. Shreveport, Bossier City team up for waterways cleanup Saturday (ksla.com) — Bossier City residents are invited to join Shreveport neighbors this Saturday for a major cleanup of local waterways, including Cross Lake and the Red River system. Volunteers can work on land or water from 8 a.m. to noon, helping protect drinking water, seafood sources, and neighborhood drainage ditches across Caddo and Bossier parishes.
