• City council introduces ordinance to create economic development district (weeklycitizen.com) — Gonzales residents should know the City Council is moving to create a Veterans Economic Development District that could tap an existing one-percent sales tax for new projects. A public hearing is planned for Oct. 12 after legal notices run in the Gonzales Weekly Citizen, giving locals a chance to weigh in before any tax increment is designated.
