• Boomtown Casino to become Hollywood Casino New Orleans in $195 million relocation (fox8live.com) — A $195 million plan would move Boomtown's riverboat casino onshore in Harvey and rebrand it as Hollywood Casino New Orleans, keeping hundreds of jobs and tax dollars in Jefferson Parish. Local leaders say the project could boost West Bank growth, fund parks and drainage, and help the parish compete with Gulf Coast casinos if regulators approve it this week.
   

• Kenner police demand action from Esplanade Mall over trespassers (fox8live.com) — Kenner police are pressing Esplanade Mall's owners to secure the long-abandoned property, citing more than 100 trespassing incidents, serious safety hazards, and viral break-in videos. With the 72-acre site now for sale and still Jefferson Parish's largest abandoned property, city leaders worry about lost sales tax revenue and demand a clear abatement and redevelopment plan.
