2. Deputy fired for using Flock cameras to track ex-fiancée's vehicle for several years, sheriff says (azfamily.com) — In Jefferson Parish, Sheriff Joe Lopinto says deputy Nathan Rome has been fired for misusing Flock cameras to track his former fiancée's vehicle over several years. The woman told investigators she didn't want charges or his termination, but Lopinto ruled the surveillance a clear violation of Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office policy amid wider debate over neighborhood camera monitoring.
3. JPSO deputy who allegedly tracked ex with Flock cameras 'thousands of times' identified (wwltv.com) — Jefferson Parish officials say a JPSO deputy has been fired after admitting he used Flock license plate cameras more than 3,000 times over several years to track his ex-partner's vehicle. The woman declined to pursue criminal charges, but Sheriff Joe Lopinto called the conduct unacceptable and says the department is working with Flock to build better safeguards against abuse of the system.
4. Louisiana Deputy Fired After Thousands Of Flock Searches On Ex-Fiancée (kpel965.com) — Jefferson Parish residents are learning that deputy Nathan Rome was fired after JPSO found he ran more than 3,200 Flock camera searches on his former fiancée's license plate. The woman asked that he keep his job and face no charges, but Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said using a law-enforcement database like a personal tracking app violates policy as national scrutiny of Flock's license plate network grows.
