1. Spooktacular S.T.E.A.M. Fest Returns to Children's Museum (macaronikid.com) — Families in Lafayette can mark their calendars for Spooktacular S.T.E.A.M. Moncus Park grant expands trails, nature access in Lafayette (theadvertiser.com) — Moncus Park in Lafayette has secured a $50,000 Kubota Hometown Proud grant to expand trails, restore habitats, and improve nature access in its Back 50 project. The funding will help buy a new compact tractor and support environmental education, making more natural areas safely accessible for Lafayette residents while preserving native habitats for long-term community enjoyment.
3. Lafayette resident wins $100,000 Powerball prize with local ticket (theadvertiser.com) — A Lafayette resident recently claimed a $100,000 Powerball prize after buying a winning ticket at Royal Food Store on West Congress Street, taking home $73,000 after taxes. The Louisiana Lottery is using the win to remind Lafayette players to sign tickets, claim prizes within 180 days, and seek help if gambling becomes a problem.
4.
