• Metairie murder investigation leads to Terrytown arrest (wdsu.com) — A man has died after a Sept. 6 shooting outside a Metairie bar, and Jefferson Parish deputies have arrested a 25-year-old Terrytown resident on a second-degree murder charge. The suspect was booked into the parish correctional center, and investigators are still asking Metairie-area residents to share any information that could help complete the homicide case.
   

• More than 100 New Orleans-area students named National Merit semifinalists (wwltv.com) — Metairie families can celebrate that students from Metairie Park Country Day and several nearby Jefferson Parish schools are among more than 100 New Orleans-area National Merit semifinalists.
