• Louisiana's McLindon foundation gives bikes to kids who thought they'd never ride one (nola.com) — A Metairie girl named Hannah Ruth recently received the McLindon Family Foundation's 800th adaptive bike, highlighting how this Baton Rouge-based nonprofit is helping Louisiana kids with special needs gain mobility and confidence. The group works with therapists, refurbishes outgrown bikes for other local children, and offers a way for families in Metairie and nearby areas to apply for these otherwise very expensive bikes.
