• Minden woman jailed after assaulting man with cell phone (websterparishjournal.com) — A recent domestic disturbance on Cherry Street in Minden led to the arrest of a 28-year-old woman on multiple domestic abuse and property damage charges, with a child reportedly present. Deputies say an argument over a cell phone escalated into a physical altercation involving a broken chair, pepper spray, and damage to a vehicle. The suspect remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
• 6 Minden Medical Center board members resign amid ongoing concerns over hospital finances (westcentralsbest.com) — Six members of the Minden Medical Center Board of Governors have resigned, citing deep concerns over Allegiance Health Corporation's financial and operational decisions and their impact on the hospital. They stress that local staff continue providing strong care but say the community deserves more transparency, accountability, and stability around the hospital's finances and future.
• 2026 UL Lafayette's Homecoming Court announced (klfy.com) — A Minden student, Aliysha De'Arjahnae Butler, has been named to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's 2026 Homecoming Court, representing her hometown on a big collegiate stage. The early childhood education major is active in campus leadership groups and will be recognized during the Oct. 3 Homecoming football game. Her selection highlights Minden's connection to UL Lafayette's traditions.
