The New Orleans Public Library is also offering job search help, computer skills sessions, and application reviews, all aimed at boosting local residents' employment prospects.
   

• Food recalls, parasite outbreak drive New Orleans shoppers to farmers market (fox8live.com) — Worried by national food recalls and a Cyclospora outbreak, more New Orleans shoppers are turning to the Crescent City Farmers Market and other local growers they can meet face-to-face. Vendors describe customers asking detailed safety questions, especially about lettuce linked to a major outbreak, and some residents say they're skipping salads until they can trust mass-produced greens again.
   

• Two areas in tropical Atlantic with upped chances for possible formation this week (wgno.com) — A New Orleans-based forecast says three systems in the Atlantic have increased chances of developing into tropical depressions or storms this week, including one southeast of Bermuda and another emerging off Africa. The National Hurricane Center now gives two of them a 50% seven-day formation chance, but none are expected to affect southeastern Louisiana or southern Mississippi at this time.
