The project aims to restore a deteriorating, code-cited building and bring elevated soul food and live entertainment to a busy corner near Frenchmen Street.
   

2. New Orleans invites public input on 2027 budget as city navigates fiscal crisis (wwltv.com) — New Orleans is asking residents to help shape the 2027 city budget, with seven evening town halls scheduled across all council districts starting tonight. The meetings come as leaders work to close a major deficit caused by overtime costs, lost federal aid, and weak revenues, and they want your input on priorities like public safety, services, and infrastructure before final decisions are made this fall.
   

3. New Orleans police: air compressor, generator stolen in burglary case (wgno.com) — New Orleans police are asking for help identifying a suspect in two vehicle burglaries on the 2100 block of Agriculture Street, where tools including a generator and air compressor were stolen. Residents who recognize the person in released security footage can anonymously call CrimeStoppers and may qualify for a cash reward.
   

4. Jesuit High School marks 100 years in New Orleans (wwltv.com) — Jesuit High School is celebrating 100 years at its South Carrollton Avenue campus, a site generations of New Orleans students have called home. The story traces Jesuit education in the city back nearly 300 years, from early colonial-era priests to the founding of Loyola University and the school's 1926 move to Carrollton, where it still serves hundreds of local students today.
   

5. Urban South Brewery Announces Third Annual Tailgate Fest (myneworleans.com) — Urban South Brewery in New Orleans is hosting its third annual Tailgate Fest on Saturday, Sept. 19, blending college football watch parties, live music, and family activities. The all-day event raises money for pediatric cancer research at Manning Family Children's and features a special limited-edition beer release available only at the taproom.
