• Families of jailed inmates targeted in phone scam, Caddo deputies warn (westcentralsbest.com) — Shreveport-area families are being warned about a phone scam where callers pose as Caddo Parish deputies and promise an inmate's release on an ankle monitor for thousands of dollars. One local family lost about $4,000 after multiple relatives were targeted. Deputies stress they never cold-call to offer monitoring or demand payment and urge residents to verify any such calls directly with the sheriff's office.
