Third annual Grooveport brings new nightlife to Shreveport (ktalnews.com) — Tonight, adults 21 and up can check out the third annual Grooveport party at Vine Books & Vinyl in downtown Shreveport, starting at 9 p.m. The "Shades of Mocha" theme encourages guests to dress in their best browns while DJs spin R&B, afrobeats, bounce, and more. Organizers say they're aiming to offer something fresh and different for Shreveport's nightlife scene.
3. Shreveport-Caddo task force investigates bank fraud scheme; 1 arrested, 2 wanted (westcentralsbest.com) — Shreveport's Financial Crimes Task Force is probing a bank fraud scheme tied to multiple local institutions, with one suspect jailed and two women still at large. Investigators say fraudulent IDs and withdrawals are involved and believe the remaining suspects have left Louisiana, but they're urging anyone with information to contact Shreveport police.
4. Remembering Linda Dianne Ingram Van Zile (shreveportbossierjournal.com) — Family and friends are invited Friday afternoon to honor 77-year-old Linda Dianne Ingram Van Zile at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall Street, with burial at Forest Park Cemetery. Born in Shreveport and an LSU Shreveport graduate, she devoted her career to juvenile probation work and was active in Broadmoor Baptist Church. Loved ones remember her zest for life, dancing, and deep commitment to family.
5. Louisiana officials discuss juvenile justice, crime prevention (ktalnews.com) — Shreveport is hosting the Louisiana Governor's Conference on juvenile justice, where Caddo Parish judges, counselors, and law enforcement are trading ideas on how to keep local teens out of court. Speakers highlight diversion programs, family services, and community outreach as key tools to prevent youth crime before it starts, with an emphasis on spotting behavioral red flags early.
