Fluoride, added only for dental health, has been in the city's water since 1977, and leaders warn the shortage could last for months while they search for new supplies.
   

• CDL driver shortage affecting Shreveport sanitation, Caddo school bus routes (westcentralsbest.com) — A shortage of CDL-licensed drivers is straining Shreveport's sanitation service and Caddo Parish school bus routes, leaving some routes without dedicated drivers and fewer garbage trucks on the road. City and school leaders are boosting pay, partnering with driving schools, and considering retention requirements to keep newly trained drivers from leaving for higher-paying private-sector jobs.
