The space will support tours, folklife programs, and community activities, though it won't be finished in time for this year's public Pioneer Day event on October 24.

Shreveport mass shooting leaves 7 injured outside early morning house party (ksla.com) — Seven people were injured, one critically, when gunfire erupted outside a house party on Crestmoor Drive in Shreveport around 4 a.m. Saturday. Shreveport police say a dispute between two men escalated into shots fired into the crowd, and detectives now urge anyone with information or cellphone video to contact SPD or Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers.
3. Shreveport police search for man wanted in domestic violence case (ksla.com) — Shreveport police are asking for the public's help finding 25-year-old Rashad Moore, wanted in connection with an alleged domestic violence attack on a six-months-pregnant woman on Mansfield Road, reportedly committed in front of an infant. Moore faces multiple felony charges, and anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to contact Shreveport police or Crime Stoppers immediately.
4. Dupont family speaks out after longtime fish market boat is relocated (westcentralsbest.com) — A Shreveport family is speaking out after the distinctive boat from the former Dupont Fish Market on North Market Street was removed and relocated by its new owner. Relatives say the vessel represents their grandfather's legacy and neighborhood history, and they're exploring ways to either buy it back or install a replica at its longtime location to preserve those memories.
