Pumpkin patch at Provenance supports local families through Junior League fundraiser (klax-tv.com) — Families in Shreveport can visit the lakefront pumpkin patch in the Provenance neighborhood, where every pumpkin purchase supports the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier's community projects, including its Red Apron Pantry on Line Avenue. Open through October 29 with free admission and parking, the patch offers thousands of pumpkins, photo spots, and special events throughout the season.
2. Truck struck by gunfire during W. 69th Street shooting in Shreveport (ksla.com) — A Shreveport resident on West 69th Street discovered his truck had been hit by a bullet after gunfire erupted in his neighborhood Tuesday night. He and neighbors worry that children, who often play outside there, could have been struck. Police say two groups exchanged shots, one man was wounded, and all involved fled before officers arrived.
3. Shreveport launches See, Sign, Secure initiative (ktalnews.com) — Shreveport officials are rolling out a new "See, Sign, Secure" initiative to boost safety and quality of life in the downtown core, including more visible policing and new technology. The program also targets homelessness, with outreach groups like Downtown to Home working with about 52 unhoused people and using ID bracelets to better connect them with law enforcement and services.
4. Shreveport man convicted of raping, impregnating 11-year-old girl (ksla.com) — A Shreveport man has been convicted of first-degree rape for sexually assaulting and impregnating an 11-year-old girl, following an investigation that began at a local pediatric clinic. Testimony from multiple witnesses and DNA evidence led a Caddo District judge to find him guilty, and he now faces a mandatory life sentence when he returns for sentencing in November.
5. Whose Line Is It Anyway Comes To Shreveport's Strand Theatre (710keel.com) — Downtown Shreveport comedy fans can catch the "Whose Live Anyway" tour at the Strand Theatre on Saturday, November 21, 2026, for 90 minutes of fully improvised sketches and music. TV favorites Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray will perform with heavy audience participation and some likely PG-13 language, with tickets available now through the Strand's website.
