Caddo Parish: Caddo Parish Commission Selects Interim District 6 Commissioner

CADDO PARISH COMMISSION SELECTS STEFFON JONES INTERIM DISTRICT 6 COMMISSIONER The Caddo Parish Commission has selected Steffon Jones as interim Commissioner for District 6.  Jones will fill the seat left vacant by former Commissioner Lynn D. Cawthorne. The appointment was made at a special called meeting of the Caddo Commission on November 29. Jones was sworn in immediately following the Commission vote by Caddo Parish Juvenile Court Judge Ree Casey-Jones. Steffon Jones is a graduate of Captain Shreve High School and East Texas Baptist University.  He is employed by Shreveport Transit Management as a Maintenance Supervisor.    He also serves as the Senior Pastor at New Morning Glory Baptist Temple in Mansfield, Louisiana and as a member of the Caddo Parish Democratic Executive Committee for District 6. The Commission also voted to call for a special election to fill the District 6 seat for the remainder of former Commissioner Cawthorne’s term. That election will be held November 8, 2022.
