LSU Shreveport Athletic Director Speaks On Morale Focus During Pandemic

LSU Shreveport Athletic Director, Lucas Morgan, was featured in the September edition of the Athletics Administration, a monthly publication presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

Titled, βThe Power of Morale During a Pandemicβ, Morganβs feature is a story of hope and empowerment for athletic administrators nationwide during this unprecedented era.
βWe have been knocked down as a society,β Morgan wrote. βThis pandemic has tested us, it has brought us to our breaking point, but itβs the individuals and the departments who are willing to be creative and to scratch and claw to find their way through the storm that will prevail.β

Currently serving in his third year on the NAIA Athletic Directors Association (ADA) Board of Directors, Morgan shared personal experiences with uncertainty and adversity in athletic departments. He suggests that leadership and teamwork are critical in order to see the other side of hardship.
βThis is the time when we as administrators have to find the positive dog living inside us,β Morgan encouraged. βThis is the time when we need to lead our people out of the darkness.β
Morgan has proudly led the LSUS Athletics program for four years and has seen significant growth and development during that time on the field of play and in the classroom. He additionally serves on the NAIA Competitive Experience Committee, and was selected as the 2018-19 RRAC Athletic Director of the Year.
