Shreve Memorial Library’s mobile makerspace, the Make & Go, continues to bring STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) learning to library branches throughout Caddo Parish. The Make & Go team has taught children and teens how to code with robots and how to make their very own stop-motion animations using LEGOs. In November, children ages 8 years and older are invited to visit Shreve Memorial Library branches to learn why engineering and circuitry can be a snap using Snap Circuit Rovers. Workshops will be held at various Shreve Memorial Library branches beginning Monday, November 1.

Children will learn basic engineering, electronic and circuitry concepts at Make & Go workshops using Snap Circuits to build a remote-controlled rover. Snap Circuits use building components with snaps to assemble and create electronic circuits on a simple rows and columns base grid. Children will learn about electric switches, radio reception, gear movement and more by building these rovers as well as learn how electrical circuits work to run everyday devices.

Throughout the month of November, the SML Make & Go team will visit Shreve Memorial Library branches to offer hands-on Snap Circuit Rover workshops to Shreve Memorial Library patrons.  The workshops are designed for children ages 8 years and older and will take place at select Shreve Memorial Library branches on the dates and times listed below.
