Shreve Memorial Library’s mobile makerspace, the Make & Go, is bringing STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) learning to library branches throughout Caddo Parish.  This month, the SML Make & Go team will host a series of workshops at Shreve Memorial Library branches September 13 through September 24 using Cue Robots to teach children the basics of coding.

Cue Robots are designed for kids who have an interest in coding. The Cue helps children transition from block-based code to state-machine and test-based programming. The robots encourage children to explore programming languages and robotic capabilities while building problem-solving skills through coding, engineering and design.
Throughout the month of September, the SML Make & Go team will visit Shreve Memorial Library branches to offer programs featuring the Cue Robots. Â Children ages 8 and over are invited to join the SML Make & Go team and spark their creativity while developing problem-solving skills with these coding robots. Workshops are scheduled as follows:

All workshops are free and open to the public, however space is limited and registration is required. In addition, face masks and social distancing are required. Registration for the program can be completed in person at one of the Shreve Memorial Library branches listed above.
Shreve Memorial Library’s Make & Go is a fully equipped makerspace on wheels bringing the latest in STEAM programming to communities throughout Caddo Parish. The Make & Go provides STEAM programming on the go, traveling to outreach events, the library’s 21 branches, SPAR Recreation Centers, and more. Materials for use with the Make & Go include laptops, iPads, 3D printer and scanner, robotics, building sets, portable hotspots, arts and crafts supplies, SNAP circuits, and sewing and embroidery tools. The Make & Go is customizable to meet STEAM learning needs.
