Blue Hill Peninsula shapes filmmaker's eye for overlooked stories (penobscotbaypress.com) — A filmmaker who grew up in the Augusta and Gardiner area says those inland mill-town roots, contrasted with coastal life on the Blue Hill Peninsula, shaped his eye for overlooked Maine stories. His documentaries explore subcultures like hardcore music venues and candlepin bowling, and he now mentors students while touring festivals with his latest film.

Mainer details what he saw at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001 (wmtw.com) — From Augusta, a former federal firefighter from Winter Harbor shares what he witnessed while helping at Ground Zero in the days after 9/11. He recalls the devastation, the exhausting search for survivors, and the powerful sense of unity he hopes Mainers remember a quarter-century later, even as the images remain difficult to revisit.
