The boy was identified as Wyatt Frost of Lyman. The driver was Earl Gray, 57, of Waterboro. Gray was a volunteer driver with York County Community Action.
The crash happened on the southbound side of the highway near mile 24 at about 2:30 p.m. Gray was slowing in traffic near an unrelated crash when a tractor-trailer driver struck the car and rolled over on top of it, according to state police. The truck driver was identified as John Kamau, 56, of Lowell, Massachusetts. He suffered minor injuries.
The impact drove Gray's car into another tractor-trailer; that driver suffered minor injuries, police said.
