Heroin, Crack Cocaine Seized in Augusta Drug Raid: ICYMI

Six were charged following an Augusta drug raid on Crosby Street Place: in case you missed it.

AUGUSTA, ME β€” A drug raid in Augusta on Crosby Street Place resulted in a half-dozen arrests and the seizure of nearly $20,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine, police said Friday. The suspects are from Augusta and Waterville; one is from New York.

The raid happened Friday at about 4:30 p.m. at 3 Crosby Street Place. Police said they found about $12,000 worth of heroin, $6,000 worth of crack cocaine, and $300 worth of oxycontin at the residence.

The following suspects were arrested at the scene:

  • Todd Collins, 30, of Augusta. He was charged with heroin possession; bail was set at $160.
  • Corey Vannah, 27 , of Augusta. He was charged with seven counts of aggravated drug trafficking (heroin and cocaine); bail set at $25,000.
  • Christine Thayer, 28, of Augusta. She was charged with three counts of drug trafficking; bail set at $10,000.
  • Mario Gordon 34, of New York City. He was charged with two counts of aggravated drug trafficking (crack cocaine, heroin, oxycontin).
  • April Meserve 33, of Waterville. She was charged with heroin possession.

Police said a vehicle was stopped near the scene; the driver, Michelle Benavidez, 35, of Augusta, was arrested on a warrant for failing to pay fines.

Police said no booking photos were available for Thayer and Benavidez.
