Paul LePage Delivers Maine State Of The State Address: Watch Replay

Paul LePage delivered the 2017 State of the State address Tuesday.

AUGUSTA, ME β€” Maine Governor Paul LePage delivered his 2017 Maine "State of the State" address from Augusta Tuesday night. The governor touched on topics including taxes, education and the state's elderly population.

In recent days, LePage spoke out against welfare fraud and said he supports President Trump's partial immigration ban.

LePage cited a report that indicated there was $1.7 million in welfare fraud in Maine in 2016.

"Maine needs to continue reforming welfare and reducing fraud," he said.

On the travel ban, LePage issued a statement in response to Maine Attorney General Janet Mills' decision to join over a dozen state attorneys general in opposing the ban.

"Mills speaks for herself," LePage said in a statement. "I fully support (the president's) ... action to protect all Americans."
