Toddler Rescued in Near-Drowning in Augusta
A Good Samaritan pulled a young boy in distress from the Kennebec River and administered CPR, authorities said.

AUGUSTA, ME β A Good Samaritan rescued a young boy who nearly drowned in the Kennebec River Friday, police said. The man pulled the 2-year-old toddler from the water near the East Side Boat Landing Playground at about 6 p.m. as the child was in distress, police said
The man then administered CPR and water squirted out from the child's lungs, police said. The boy was transported to a local hospital.
Police said they're investigating the incident to "determine any crimes that have been committed."
