Unsolved Maine Homicides: Wendy Morello

Tuesday marked the 14th anniversary of the discovery of Wendy Morello's body in a trash can in York.

YORK, ME β€” Twelve years after the body of a Massachusetts woman was found stuffed in a trash can in York, authorities are asking the public's help solving the cold cast.

The body of Wendy Morello was discovered on Sept. 13, 2004 by a man walking in the woods near Riverwood Drive. Police said she was murdered and her body was dumped there.

Morello was from Worcester, Massachusetts and was last seen in that city on Sept. 5, 2004. Her family reported her missing the same day her body was found. She left behind two daughters.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maine State Police at 1-800-228-0857. Online tips are also accepted.
