• Crow in Falmouth tests positive for West Nile virus (pressherald.com) — Health officials have confirmed West Nile virus in a crow found in Falmouth, and Cape Elizabeth officials report a crow found dead in town on July 14 also tested positive. While no human cases have been reported in Maine this year, residents should stay aware of mosquito activity as late-summer conditions continue.
• Lakes Region Senior Center Art Show (gorhamtimes.com) — An art exhibit by the Lakes Region Senior Center's Studio Group is on display all month at Cape Elizabeth's Thomas Memorial Library on Scott Dyer Road. Local residents can drop in anytime through the end of September to see oils, watercolors, pastels, and more created by retirees from Gorham and nearby communities, all showcased right in town.
