• Volunteers to gather in Saco to build insulating window inserts (sacobaynews.com) — Old Orchard Beach residents can order low-cost, custom insulating window inserts through a community build happening Nov. 7–12 in nearby Saco, with measurements due by Oct. 12. Volunteers are needed for build shifts, food support, and client outreach, and cost is based on ability to pay, with some homeowners qualifying for free inserts.
   

• Two Maine men plead guilty in drug trafficking conspiracy (wgme.com) — A federal drug trafficking case tied to a Massachusetts supplier now includes Old Orchard Beach resident Cassandra Smith, who is an indicted co-defendant alongside several others from southern Maine. Two Portland-area men have already pleaded guilty and face lengthy prison terms, while Smith and two other co-defendants are scheduled for change-of-plea hearings in U.S. District Court.
