As of January 1, 2021, the Plastic Straw Ordinance prohibits the distribution of plastic straws, stirrers, and splash sticks.
These supplies have been made available by funding the City received from the Keep Maine Healthy grant program.
The application deadline is December 9 at 4:00 PM.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until funding runs out or the program sunsets on December 31 whichever comes first.
Applications that are unable to be funded will be placed on a wait list, should additional funding become available.
Existing businesses must immediately apply for a business license in order to legally continue operating.
Ultimately, the new recommended budget includes a property tax rate decrease of one cent.
