Facebook yanks Y

BELFAST, Maine — The Waldo County YMCA has received a notice from Facebook that its page had been "unpublished."

Facebook message that pops up in lieu of the Waldo County YMCA's page.

"We have requested a review of the action taken against us. Unfortunately, this has been happening to many other YMCAs over the last year," YMCA CEO Russell Werkman

said.

"While we hope to have our page restored, there has been no guaranteed resolution," Werkman added.

The YMCA has added a spot on its website home page for the important notices and announcements that would have been posted to Facebook.

Interested people can also follow the Y on Instagram for notices, announcements and Y stories.

"We will continue to use TeamReach for all announcements related to current youth sports programs and swim lessons," Werkman said.
