City Of Portland: Barron Center Achieves Five-Star Medicare Rating

“I’m so proud of the staff at the Barron Center for their hard work and dedication to our residents,” said Kristen Dow, Director of the City’s Health & Human Services Department. “I want to thank them for the work they do each and every day. It is because of them that we were able to improve to a five-star rating.”  

The Nursing Home Compare website features a quality rating system that gives each nursing home a rating of between 1 and 5 stars. Nursing homes with five stars are considered to have much above average quality and nursing homes with one star are considered to have quality much below average. There is one Overall 5-star rating for each nursing home, and a separate rating for health inspections, staffing, and quality measures.
