Facebook Trump Threat: Lawmaker To Be Removed From Assignments
Rep. Scott Hamann apologized for posting that Donald Trump is a "half-term president, at most, especially if I ever get within 10 feet."

AUGUSTA, ME — A Maine lawmaker will be removed from his committee assignments after posting a threatening comment about President Donald Trump on Facebook, the speaker of the state House of Representatives said.
Rep. Scott Hamann's comment was "inexcusable and unacceptable," Democratic Speaker Sara Gideon said. She is removing him from service on the Health and Human Services Committee and the Marijuana Legalization Implementation Committee.
Hamann, of South Portland, has apologized for his post Tuesday in which he said Trump is a "half-term president, at most, especially if I ever get within 10 feet." Maine GOP Executive Director Jason Savage says removing the lawmaker from committees was a first step but doesn't go far enough. He said it is merely a response to public outcry over the post.
