Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services Opens New Office Space in Springvale

MBVS has relocated their Springvale Veterans' Services Office to 634 Main Street between the Sanford Vet Center and Aubuchon Hardware

SPRINGVALE, Maine – The Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services (MBVS) has a new office location in Springvale. MBVS has relocated their Springvale Veterans’ Services Office to 634 Main Street, situated between the Sanford Vet Center and Aubuchon Hardware. David Flores, the current Veteran Service Officer for MBVS in the Sanford area, will continue working in his same capacity.

Adria Horn, Director of the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, believes the move will enable the Bureau and its Veteran Service Organization (VSO) partners to better serve Maine veterans and their families with the addition of essential conference room space as well as Wi-Fi accessibility.

“As public awareness of the Bureau and its mission to help Mainers who served has continued to grow, we quickly recognized the need for additional space in Springvale,” said MBVS Director Horn. “At the same time, we wanted to remain local to other important services for veterans, including the Sanford Vet Center, to whom we are most grateful to have as our partner in meeting the needs of our veterans and their families.”

Sanford Vet Center Director Amy Marcotte echoed similar sentiments, saying, “The Sanford Vet Center and the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services worked side-by-side for many decades to help veterans and their families readjust to the community and access the resources they deserve. All of us at the Sanford Vet Center look forward to continuing our work together, and we wish the Bureau staff the best of luck as they settle into their new home.”

While the Veterans’ Services Office location has changed, services will not be interrupted. Veteran Service Officers are available to assist veterans and their families in obtaining access to benefits, including enrollment in the VA system for healthcare services and other VA benefits, filing claims with the VA, obtaining a copy of DD-214 military discharge records, and applying for complimentary park passes and hunting and fishing licenses.

“Whether you are a veteran or a family member, currently serving or transitioning from the military, we hope you will stop by our new office to ensure you are receiving all of the benefits you have earned,” added Director Horn. “Our Veteran Service Officers are extremely knowledgeable and are always available to help.”
