Portland City Alerts Businesses That Covid-19 Reopening Guidelines Must Be Followed
If regulations are not followed by businesses then the City will be forced to eliminate outdoor dining on Wharf Street and in other areas.

The City of Portland is reminding businesses that they must follow the State’s COVID-19 reopening guidelines for operation. Following multiple reports of violations from the public, the City will have two code enforcement officers plus the police department on Wharf Street tonight to enforce the state’s reopening plan.

The City has taken measures to educate businesses on the reopening plan by the state. City staff spoke again this morning to businesses to make sure they understand the requirements and the ramifications if they do not enforce on their own. If the regulations are not followed by businesses then the City will be forced to eliminate outdoor dining on Wharf Street and in other areas in which violations are found.
